Absolutely beautiful and very rare antique Indian ‘Shiva Lingam’ casket necklace
These necklaces were designed as containers to hold a sacred lingam stone inside, representing the god Shiva
Has been XRF tested, and the silver purity is just below sterling (around 900)
Weight approx 105g
Circa late 19th or early 20th century
The box itself measures 70mm wide and the drop of the necklace is approx 17.5”
The lid is attached and secured to the bottom part of the box with the chain so cannot be lost
Releasing this from my personal collection - some wear to the silver from age but overall great condition!
